"TNR programs are not desirable for school grounds. Feral cats pose a health risk and should not live there. TNR does not address disease and predation."

질병전파에 대한 논문으로 정말 좋은 내용이 많지만 너무 길어서 추림

오히려 개보다 고양이 광견병이 많다

 

"Many other potential zoonotic and cat-specific diseases are harbored in feral cat populations in addition to rabies....Many of these diseases are prevalent at higher levels in feral cats compared to the owned pet population because outdoor access poses the greatest risk of infection (Little, 2011). Group-feeding of cats by colony caretakers puts cats at greater risk for contracting diseases whose transmission is augmented by increased animal density and contact rates among cats. Feline Respiratory Disease Complex (FRDC), a group of pathogens that lead to high morbidity in shelters, catteries, and colony feeding sites, is one such example (Cohn, 2011); however, other diseases are likely to be facilitated as well... 고양이는 광견병 이외에도 수많은 인수공통감염병과 종특성 질병 품고 있다. 이런 질병들은 <애완고양이보다 야생페럴캣들에게 분포되어 있다.>

먹이를 공급하는 캣맘들은 고양이 밀도와 접촉률을 증가시켜 고양이 전염병에 대한 전파력을 크게 증대시키고 커다란 위협을 안겨준다.

흑사병 전파 경로에 대한 문헌자료

 

"Cats usually become very ill from plague and can directly infect humans when they cough infectious droplets into the air. Dogs are less likely to be ill "

 

일반적으로 고양이는 흑사병에 감염되었을 때 몹시 아프며 기침을 통해 대기 중에 전염성 액적을 토하여 인간에게 직접적으로 감염시킬 수 있다. 개는 병에 걸릴 가능성이 낮다.

 

고양이가 쥐를 잡아서 흑사병을 예방한다는 캣맘의 거짓 선동과는 반대로 오히려 흑사병 면역력도 없는 고양이가 쥐를 잡는 행위가 흑사병 전파에 공헌한다고 볼 수 있겠다

 

그럼 고양이는 쥐를 잡는가?

 "A study comparing an area with supplemental feral cat feeding to one without it found that the area with feeding had reduced abundance of native rodent and bird populations... Despite their ability to affect native bird and mammal populations,

고양이들에게 먹이를 급여한 곳과 하지 않은 곳을 비교했을 때 먹이를 급여한 곳에서의 다람쥐같은 소동물과 조류의 개체 수 밀도가 감소했음을 발견했다.

이런 살상력으로도 쥐나 유해종의 의미있는 개체수 감소는 보여지지 않는다
